Voss Gallery, in partnership with the Ferry Building, is thrilled to announce "Urban Tides: A San Francisco Story," an unprecedented open call seeking to illuminate the vibrant soul of the Bay Area through the lenses of its most creative artists.

This juried group exhibition aims to capture the unique narrative of San Francisco—a city where the pulse of urban energy harmoniously blends with the allure of natural beauty. By featuring 70 of the Bay Area’s most compelling artistic talents, this event not only offers a prestigious platform at Voss Gallery but also provides 20 of the showcased artists an extraordinary opportunity to magnify their work at the iconic Ferry Building.

"Urban Tides: A San Francisco Story" embodies a celebration of the region's enchanting essence and the Ferry Building's enduring legacy as a landmark of innovation, elegance, and a gateway to the heart of San Francisco. ***IMPORTANT DATES***

The deadline for submissions is SUNDAY, MAY 19TH (11:59PM PST).
Artists must be 18 years or older by the submission deadline and based in the Bay Area to apply.

Artists will be notified via email about their submission by May 25th. A confirmation email will be sent upon successful submission. Artists are responsible for delivering selected work for exhibition to Voss Gallery. Specific logistics regarding artwork delivery will be provided upon acceptance.

An Award Ceremony for the selected artists will be held during the Ferry Building Day Anniversary Celebration on Friday, July 12th from 5PM - 7:30PM, followed by an Opening Reception at Voss Gallery on Saturday, July 13th from 5-9PM. The exhibition will be on view through August 17th.

***ARTWORK INFORMATION***

All artwork must be the EXACT dimensions 20 inches tall x 16 inches wide and may not exceed more than 3 inches from the wall. This strict sizing includes any necessary framing for works on paper.

All artistic styles of 2D mediums accepted include: paintings, drawings, photography, and collages. Mixed media submissions are also welcome if they adhere to the size and protrusion restrictions. If the work incorporates textured elements, it may not exceed more than 3 inches from the wall. Artwork must be professionally presented and ready to hang securely on a wall with hanging wire. Ensure your artwork is equipped with hanging hardware; works lacking this may not be accepted at the time of exhibition setup.

Artspace111 and the Love Texas Art Foundation are pleased to announce an open call for submissions from Texas artists for the 11th Annual Texas Juried Exhibition, juried by Maggie Adler, Curator Paintings, Sculpture, and Works on Paper,  Amon Carter Museum of American Art. The total 2024 prize amount is $15,000, with a $10,000 first prize. The exhibition will be open July 27 – August 24, 2024 at Artspace111, with an opening reception on July 27th. Contemporary 2D and 3D works that follow the requirements detailed in the prospectus are eligible for acceptance, artwork selected by the juror from the eligible submissions will be included in the exhibition at Artspace111 and are eligible for awards. As mentioned above, over $15,000 will be awarded to the best works in show, and the $10,000 first prize will include the opportunity to exhibit at Artspace111 in a separate solo or group exhibition in 2025.

The Artist in Residence (AIR) program awards fully sponsored residencies to approximately 50 local, national, and international artists each year.

WeHo Arts Division invites artists, curators, and non-profit arts organizations based in the U.S. to submit proposals for temporary public art projects to the Art on the Outside (AOTO) program. AOTO funds the temporary display of art at publicly accessible City-owned locations and facilities. Past projects include sculptures, murals, digital screen-based artwork & projections, and performance art. While proposals for new artworks are eligible for review, the program is best suited to realizing exhibitions consisting of prefabricated artworks that can be installed at the approved site without extensive modification. Past awarded budgets have averaged around $8,000 but vary depending on the project. The Max Thelen Studio Residency provides a quality art space for an emerging artist to create artwork and receive community support. The Residency includes a free art studio for 12 months with many additional benefits. Ideal candidates live in the Marin/San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area and can commit to regularly making art and participating in the program activities.

Art Works Downtown offers a diverse mix of studio artists and mediums in the heart of the San Rafael commercial core for regular interaction with the public. The Max Thelen Studio is a located on the street-level of the AWD complex. Art Works Downtown believes that an emerging artist will stimulate new ideas among established AWD studio artists and vice versa. Our community will be better served as they recognize and understand the importance of supporting emerging artists in their career endeavors.

Oil Painters of America’s 2024 Western Regional Exhibition of Traditional Representational Oils, October 12 through January 5, 2025, at Phippen Museum, Prescott, AZ. The City of Santa Clarita (City) is inviting artists to submit artwork for consideration for our upcoming “Nature’s Palette” juried exhibition, which will be on view at the First Floor Gallery located in Santa Clarita City Hall. We are seeking original artwork in any medium that captures the essence of the natural world around us. Artwork should highlight the intricate hues, textures, and forms that define our planets landscapes and ecosystems.

The City of Santa Clarita (City) is inviting artists to submit artwork for consideration for our upcoming “Autumn Expressions” juried exhibition, which will be on view at the Newhall Community Center. We are seeking original artwork in any medium that captures the essence of the season’s transient beauty. Artwork should explore autumn’s unique influence on landscapes, cultures, and personal reflections.

Northern Rio Grande National Heritage Area was Congressionally delegated in 2006 to serve Rio Arriba, Taos, and Santa Fe counties by preserving, promoting, and protecting the cultures and traditions that the area values. Cultures and Creators was established in 2023 to highlight the importance of arts in our three counties and to bring opportunity to communities in more rural areas.

Artist Requirements for the Show:

We invite artists residing within the vibrant cultural landscape of Taos, Rio Arriba, or Santa Fe County to showcase their original artwork in our upcoming exhibition, Cultures and Creators: Our Ancestors. Our Future. This call is a celebration of the rich artistic heritage and contemporary creativity that thrives within our region.

Eligibility Criteria:

Artists must be residents of Taos, Rio Arriba, or Santa Fe County to participate.
Only original artwork created solely by the submitting artist will be considered for inclusion.
Submission Guidelines:

Each artist may submit up to three pieces of artwork for consideration.
Submissions must be made digitally through our designated submission platform.
Please ensure that each artwork is accompanied by a title, dimensions, medium, and a brief artist statement reflecting your creative process and inspiration (max. 150 words).
Artwork Specifications:

We welcome artwork in any medium, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, digital art, and mixed media.
The submitted artwork should reflect the unique perspective, culture, and spirit of our region.
Jury Process:

A panel of esteemed jurors, with a deep appreciation for the local arts scene, will carefully review all submissions.

Artworks will be available for sale during the exhibition, a commission percentage may be retained by the exhibition organizers to support future artistic endeavors in our community.
