Hubbard Collection
These painting from the Hubbard Collection are some of the donated works that grace the Keene State College campus, Hubbard, who has been collecting art for more than 40 years, came to know Keene State while visiting two grand nieces who attended the KSC. The Hubbard collection includes paintings, drawings, pans, and sculpture by a variety of artists such as Blaine de Kooning, William Hogarth, Francisco de Goya, N. C. Wyeth, and sculptor David Aronson.
Kingston Photo Collection
Kingston’s time of collection bookends the age of the collection itself, none of the photos older than the 1970s, almost all of them black and white. Yet, many embody some of the same unchanged, familiar photographic rituals of today, including wedding photos, travel albums, and the ubiquitous and earnest class photos children still endure today. The covetous collection, valued at $1.8 million, was gifted to KSC by an anonymous donor and possibly represents the single largest art donation in the college’s history. The comprehensive collection includes over 3,500 photos.
Permanent Collection
The Thorne’s permanent collection includes an impressive selection of nationally recognized 19th-century artists who flourished around Mount Monadnock at the turn of the century. The goal is to collect and preserve the pieces in our collection as a legacy for Keene State College and our community.
