This quote surfaced as I was making this piece. I initially finished it last year after many months of working and changing things but in the early summer I found two marotte puppets I had made years ago of The Mad Hatter and The Red Queen... the hatter is balancing The White Rabbit in his hat and the queen had made some tarts for the tea party. I placed these two puppets where once there was a swan and the water immediately became a boat sailing the mad threesome off into the imagination to meet up with Alice ... I knew then that this piece was finally complete and was indeed The Curious Deep . . . .
