Most summers, I spend a few weeks on the shore of Lake Superior, a cold, beautiful, deep lake with rocky beaches. It was during one of those stays that I discovered how to make three-dimensional forms in the embroidery machine. This piece was begun on the shores of Lake Superior.
A sculptural evocation of a Lake Superior beach. Indeed the piece was made on a trip to Minnesota's Northshore.
