These Painting/Monotypes become for me a vehicle of expression of experience. The images are in essence about the intimate relationship between the interconnectivity of the viewer and the given space that is implied. It is the line that exists between time and space and how we perceive that experience that I’m trying to explore.

The line that is birthed between the land and sky becomes for me an abstract dissection of a simple and harmonious space. All inconsequential figures become malleable as the line between observation and experience is blurred.

Regardless of subject the proximity of viewer to that which is seen or unseen is of the utmost concern. Time, space, abstract, realism, all forms of how we record and understand our life.

Through the fate that is applied when pressure is involved in the painting process I am able to further not only a technical understanding of image making but a cathartic understanding of self as well. One must let go the need to control the outcomes of all things and learn to appreciate the poetry of divine mistake.”
