In 2014 when I turned 60 on January 1st, I had the bright idea that I would do a journal quilt once a week. I made it through 10 weeks and then dropped the project. Now that I am in the last year of my 60’s, I am determined to complete the project or at least add to it. I named the series “In the Moment in My Sixties”. Each quilt represents what was on my mind the day I made it.
On the day I made “In the Moment in My Sixties #8”, I am reminding myself not to take myself so seriously. “Lighten up”, I tell myself in my own hand writing. Party, spend time with friends, listen to some music and drink the wine.
The quilt is embellished with charms, buttons and words.
The back of the quilt is red “bits and pieces” fabric. There is a hanging sleeve on the back for easy display and a label that documents the quilt.
I signed it on the front. Visit my “In the Moment in My Sixties” gallery on my web site to see all of my journal quilts.
