He Inspires Us With His Words and Deeds

John Lewis was a great man because he not only talked the talk. He walked the walk. His words are inspiring, but his unselfish actions inspire us to action. How many of us would risk our life for others? Not many. That is why we honor him.

“His Words and Deeds Inspire Us” is my take on a crossword puzzle. An array of African fabrics form the background representing the African Diaspora. The focus of the quilt are the words created in red representing the red blood shed on the Edmund Pettus Bridge.
