This collage is created using a recycled coffee cup lids. They are referred to as CCC. It, along with over 3300 from around the globe, came into The Collection in 2021 as part of an international call. The entire collection of CCC was shown at Boxx Gallery in Tieton Washington from May 5 to May 13, 2023 and was curated by Ed Marquand.

New Open Call!

We live in one of the coffee-centric areas of the world, Washington State, where the famed @starbucks originated.

We are asking collagists to pair the obsessions of coffee with the mission of International Be An Angel Day, August 22.

Established in 1993, by Jaune Howard Feldman, this day asks folks to do something kind for others. Angels are supernatural beings known for protection and kindness.

How will we mix these two concepts together…coffee and angels, and WHY?

We are slated in 2022 to have an exhibition of the Collection at @mightytieton.

We want to show the Collection + demonstrate how the world-wide collage community is connected, how they are committed to kindness, like angels, and their passion for Mail-Art!

So, we are asking artists to use the LIDS from DISPOSABLE COFFEE CUPS as the substrate for collages.

Please send your CCC (coffee cup collage), to the Collection to help build a massive art installation. We will need over 100 CCC.

ALL works are welcome!

ALL who contribute will be named as co-creators of the sculpture!

ALL who send collages will become part of the Collection!

But wait a bit more….coffee lids are literally really ready made frames. In groups of 3 or more, they make a grand, mini gallery wall installation. With the holidays coming—most people don’t need more things that cost money—how about making CCC as a holiday gift.

The earth wins!

You get to do an awesome new project!

Those you give the CCC to will have a nice art collection themselves!

Submission requirements and suggestions:

+ Use black colored lids, only please.

+ Collage on BOTH sides making CIRCLE collages only, as featured in the example above.

+ Post your CCC to #coffeecupcollages so all can see the components of the installation.
