El Coyote

Living in Arizona means I have the privilege of seeing so many unique animals. The desert animals and these colors (shades of grays, browns, creams, rusts) seem to inspire me to recreate them. In particular, I enjoy creating the eyes. It requires tiny tesserae but the end result is striking. I cut small pieces of art glass into shapes like paint brush strokes to create this mosaic 'painting' of the coyote.
