Born of Cuban parents in 1946 in Kalamazoo, Michigan I now live in Oldsmar, Florida (Tampa Bay area). I am a retired attorney (former Assistant District Attorney Bronx County, New York). In1979 I embarked into an International Banking career that took me to Chile (35 years), Brazil (3 years) and Uruguay 2.5 years. My time abroad afforded me an appreciation and love of the culture, its people and the natural beauty of these countries. Chile in particular made a lasting impression that sparks nostalgia. I am now “retired” and I primarily dedicate myself to landscape painting (oil and watercolor). In my work I try to capture images that evoke the uniqueness of different country environments that help tell a story about the places depicted. This now includes my new home Florida that will be a new focus. During my time in Chile I had the honor of being President of the American Chamber of Commerce during the time that Chile signed its Free Trade Agreement with the United States. This experience afforded me the opportunity to observe “up close” the enormous value of this type of economic tie between two countries far apart distance wise but very close culturally. I also had the honor of serving as President of the Prince of Wales Country Club in Santiago. The club has a long and rich history dating back to 1927. Its has strong family traditions, and a close association with the British community and its descendants. PWCC is more than a golf/sports club. It provides its membership a potent legacy/brand that is passed on from generation to generation. This sense of “belonging to a premier organization” translates into brand loyalty. Through my art I hope I can help individuals, and or organizations project their particular “brand” objectives and goals.
