What do the Beatles, Bill Gates and Venus Williams and these Cedars artists all have in common? 10,000 hours of dedication to their work! It is said it takes 10,000 hours of effort to master a craft, and Cedars’ artists are the very definition of such devotion. Our latest online art show features the spirited and diverse artwork of veteran artists Glenna Cooper, Jean Coury, Jennifer Hall, Tony Hyde, Elliot Jung, and Tim Shepp,
Construct/ Deconstruct 2024
Instead of starting with blank canvas or paper, Cedars artists were encouraged to create art using found surfaces and objects. In addition to adding new life to old, unfinished artwork, they transformed cardboard boxes, old magazines, wood scraps, and all kinds of other odds and ends. This act of upcycling, or creating new value from discarded things, sometimes reveals gleaming, hidden facets of our artists' creativity.
