Brave New World : Junction 8

The title " brave new world" refers to the book of the same name - which is all about the world not being as good as people hope, and "Junction 8" is a new motorway junction being constructed on the highway between Nairobi and the airport, where I spent a night in a half finished hotel. In Africa people are all trying to achieve brave new world, but at the moment it feels more like a construction site. The work is exected on drafting film which is a translucent medium which allows me to work on both sides - thus preserving and combining the drawing in the painting. I was trying to capture the sense of "unfinishedness" of the world with this technique.
