Cindy was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and moved to Houston as a young adult. She worked a full-time Corporate American job and raised a son. Cindy’s mother, Jeanne Hogan a painter and crafter, put her on her course to love arts where she dabbled in different mediums most of her life. On weekends Cindy’s free time was spent on her passion, creating art.
Once retired, Cindy started out making glass jewelry and turned to fusing larger glass pieces as her creative desires increased. After her husband retired, they moved to Fredericksburg with their two dogs to continue her artistic desires. “The natural scenic beauty living in the Texas Hill Country has stimulated my imagination towards capturing my surroundings creating mostly landscapes and seascapes”. Cindy works a lot with a “tack fusing” technique which fires pieces of glass to the base glass but leaves the texture. Her creative glass layering and firing are done multiple times to produce the depth and texture of the glass piece which can often take days to complete. “It’s thrilling to open the kiln each time to see how the piece has developed. After all, it’s one of the only art forms that you close the door and walk way until the next day to see the results”.
As an award-winning glass artist, she competes in numerous juried shows around the country. Her art can be found in galleries around Texas.
